Ameren Makes Its Case For Rate Hike

ameren illinois logoAmeren Illinois is trying to make a case for a rate increase to deliver electricity. Company spokesperson Stacey Shangraw says the increase, for maintaining and modernizing company infrastructure, is subject to approval, denial, or modification by the Illinois Commerce Commission. She says that decision should come around December.
The Citizens Utility Board, which opposes the increase, says the impact on a typical residential customer would be higher than what Shangraw says: CUB estimates $10-12 a month.
