An Aledo man has pleaded guilty to an amended charge in a sex abuse case. 44 year old Michael Daniels was placed on misdemeanor probation for 24-months, fined $1,500 and sentenced to 120 days in the Mercer County Jail with the balance stayed as long as he complies with terms of the negotiated agreement. He must also register as a sex offender for ten years. Daniels was originally facing more serious Class X felony charges, but pleaded guilty today in Mercer County Circuit Court to a Class A misdemeanor in connection with an incident in the summer of 2000 involving a girl between the ages of 9 and 17. He was arrested in late May.
