Western Illinois State Representative Don Moffitt has passed legislation that amends the Wireless Emergency Telephone Safety Act. It extends the sunset provision of the law to July 1st of 2013.

The act designates the Illinois Commerce Commission as the agency to administer the collection and distribution of fees collected by wireless carriers for the purpose of funding emergency access to wireless 911 services.
