Cover Crop Field Day 11/15 @9am

Directions: Go 4.5 miles north of Aledo on IL 94, then 1.5 miles west on 135th Avenue to the Jack Baker Farmstead.

Josh Baker will host a field day on his family farm where we will see different blends of cover crops incorporated into a corn/soybean rotation. Josh has drilled the seedings with a Great Plains no-till drill.

Seeding techniques, seed types and rates will be discussed. Handouts will be provided of best management practices related to cover crop use.

The SWCD promotes the use of cover crops to build soil quality, reduce erosion improve soil microbial action, reduce pest problems, improve water quality along with other benefits.
