Rockford Lutheran Freshman Breaks 2A Playoff TD Record

October 29th, 2012

As Mercer County gets set to host Rockford Lutheran in round 2 of the high school football playoffs, they’ll have to defend a new IHSA record holder. Freshman James Robinson set the record Saturday night for most rushing touchdowns scored in a 2a playoff game with 7. A special talent says Rockford Lutheran head coach Bruce Bazsali.

The previous 2A playoff mark was five touchdowns, shared by five players, including Aledo’s Michael O’brien. His  five TD performance was against Casey -Westfield in the 2A semi-finals in 1998.
