Mercer County Producers Eligible For Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments

October 10th, 2012

The USDA has rolled out a disaster assistance program to help Illinois farmers with crop losses fromĀ over the last year. The Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments program will help farmers that suffered crop losses due to natural disasters. The USDA says a total of 93 counties, including Mercer County, will qualify for benefits from the program. Farmers will need to have had at least a ten-percent production loss. Farmers in the other nine counties in the state can qualify for the program if they had a production loss of 50-percent. Farmers that want to take advantage of the program should contact their local FSA office.
