A threat to the deer herd should be lessened in Western Illinois following some cold temperatures over the weekend. Tim Schweizer with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources says there has been some concern with a disease called EHD.

EHD has not been found in Mercer County, but there has been evidence in Warren, Knox, Henry and Rock Island Counties.
