The Mercer County Golden Eagles girls golf program claimed the 1a regional in Kewanee on Wednesday. They scored a 391 to finish ahead of 2nd place Rockridge, which carded a 413.  Mackenzie Clawson shot an 84 to lead the Eagles.

In volleyball action from Wednesday: Mercer County beat Rockridge 25-14, 20-25, and 25-20. United was a winner over Peoria 25-18, 26-24.

In soccer: Orion-Sherrard knocks off IVC 3-2.
