Graves To Be Named Rockridge Head Football Coach

March 8th, 2013

The Rockridge School Board is expected to name Sam Graves as head football coach at Monday night’s meeting. Graves is a business education teacher at Rockridge High School and had been serving as an assistant coach under Jason Kirby. He is the son of Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Famer Steve Graves, who coached at Canton and also lead the former Yorkwood High School to a state title in 1983.  Kirby is leaving Rockridge for a teaching and coaching job at Canton.
Also on Monday night, the Rockridge School Board is expected to hire Connie Widdop as head volleyball coach. She replaces Mary Strachan, who resigned at the end of last season.
