The Mercer County Board will seat a new member tonight. Up for nomination is Donald Bell of Aledo in District 5. He is being recommended by the Mercer County Democratic Central Committee to replace Bill Olson, who resigned last month. Olson has moved outside of Mercer County. District 5 represents the City of Aledo.

In other county business, the county has received the proceeds from the $2.25-million sale of Mercer County Nursing Home to Genesis Health System. Nearly $30,000 will go to attorney fees with the remainder invested in Mercer County banks.
