The Monmouth-Roseville Titans gained revenge as they downed Fieldcrest 39-38 in the Class 2A Farminton Sectional Championship game.  One year ago, the Knights topped the Titans in double overtime, but this year it was Monmouth-Roseville’s turn to move down the tournament trail.  This was a defensive struggle as the Titans trailed 6-5 after the first quarter.  Fieldcrest’s lead remained one at halftime, 18-17.  Monmouth-Roseville took the lead after three quarters, 29-25.  The two teams battled back and forth in the final frame and Junior Dalton Hottle’s basket with 1:51 remaining were the finals points scored, giving Monmouth-Roseville the lead for good at 39-38.  The Titans now move on to the DeKalb Super-Sectional Tuesday night with a 26-4 record where they will meet second ranked Winnebago, a 74-52 winner over Sterling Newman at the Byron Sectional.
