Aledo City Council Approves Truancy Ordinance

The Aledo City Council has put the finishing touches on a truancy ordinance. City Attorney Mark Walton detailed those last night.

Police Chief Mike Sponsler provided input on drafting the ordinance.

The truancy ordinance passed with only one no vote by Alderman Barry Cooper. He says that issue should be between the parents and their children. He also believes the county should be the entity that drafts the ordinance.
