Truancy Ordinance Being Crafted For Worst Case Scenarios

To help combat truancy in the Mercer County School District, the City of Aledo is crafting an ordinance to deal with the issue. Aledo Police Chief Mike Sponsler says it’s a tool being put in place for worst case scenarios.

Mercer County High School Principal Gavin Sronce reported earlier this school year that there were over 4,000 days of missed attendance by high school students last school year.
