Mercer County Hospital and Mercer County Nursing Home will officially be under Genesis Health System ownership effective this today. Closing will be completed and the name change will take effect–Genesis Medical Center, Aledo and Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. A community open house will be from 5-to-7 p.m. Friday at Genesis Senior Living, which is the former Mercer County Nursing Home. Genesis began managing the nursing home in August of 2011 and the hospital in March of 2009.
