Mercer County will be part of a tourism opportunity assessment. The Henry County Tourism Bureau is leading the effort and it also involves rural Rock Island County. Cathy Foes of Henry County Tourism says the purpose is twofold–do tourism better and look for more tourism opportunities.

The assessment begins the week of February 3rd and the study will take five months to complete.
