Mercer County School District Superintendent Alan Boucher says he’s not sold on the idea of arming school administrators, which the Washington School District in Central Illinois is considering. But Boucher says the school district  always needs to update and fine tune its crisis plan.

The school district does utilize a school resource officer through a partnership with the City of Aledo and Aledo Police Department.
