State Continues To Promote Flu Shots

January 15th, 2013

The State Department of Public Health is reminding Illinoisans, especially those at high risk for complications, to get their flu shots. “It’s Not Too Late To Vaccinate” is the mantra public health director Lamar Hasbrouck is chanting, as Illinois experiences a tough flu season. Hasbrouck says you can get the shot at your local health department, doctor or pharmacy, although some locations have run out of the vaccine and have had to reorder.

Hasbrouck says everyone should be immunized–from ages six months on up. So far, the majority of flu related hospitalizations and deaths in Illinois have been in people in their 50′s and older.
