If the state continues to cut funding to county fairs, the president of the Mercer County Fair Board believes they can become self reliant. Roger Grundstrom of New Boston says they have a strong corporate sponsorship program in place to help offset the problems with the state.

Currently, the Mercer County Fair is owed $23,000 in premium reimbursement from the state. County fair associations will be meeting later this month in Springfield.
