Warren County has been sending inmates to the Mercer County Jail since last August due to staffing issues at the Warren County Jail. But things will look to change in 2019 as Warren County is planning to repopulate their facility. Mercer County Sheriff Dusty Terrrill tells WRMJ that Warren County plans to bring inmates back to their jail “a few at a time” during the first couple of weeks of January. Mercer County has been receiving $40 per day per Warren County inmate housed at the Mercer County Jail. In August, there were as many as 23 Warren County prisoners at the Mercer County Jail.
