Mercer County School Board Supports Resolution Asking For Districts To Have Option To Arm Teachers

The Mercer County School Board approves a Student Safety and Protection Resolution. The measure asks the Illinois Association of School Boards to support legislation giving local districts the option to allow teachers to be armed pending training.  But that’s still a long long way from happening says Unit 404 board president Julie Wagner.

The Mercer County School Board approved the resolution 4-to-1 Wednesday night with Julie Wagner, Barb Chiles, Don Yates and Jake Frieden voting yes. Tab Balmer voted no. Bill Smock and Tyson Dillavou were absent.
