Rural Aledo Man Pleads Guilty To Reduced Charge In Sex Abuse Case

A rural Aledo man has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in a sex abuse case. 30 year old Eric Maurice Thirtyacre entered the guilty plea to a Class A misdemeanor of attempted criminal sexual abuse Monday in Mercer County Circuit Court. He was originally facing Class 1 and Class 2 felonies in connection with an alleged incident involving a victim between the ages of 13 and 17. Those charges were dismissed as part of his guilty plea. Thirtyacre was placed on 24-months’ probation and fined $250. He must also complete a sex offender evaluation and follow through with any recommended treatment.  The sentence also calls for no unsupervised contact with children under 18. A 200 day jail sentence was stayed as long as he complies with the conditions of his probation.
