So far this archery deer hunting season, Mercer County hunters have taken in 496 deer, which is up 91 from the same period a year ago. Statewide, archery hunters have harvested 55,700 deer, which is up over 4,000 from last year at this time says Ed Cross with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The archery deer season runs through January 14th in Illinois.
