Plans For New $1-Million Mercer Carnegie Library Announced

Plans for a new $1-million Mercer Carnegie Library have been announced.  Library Director Catherine Worsley says the new building will be constructed at a vacant lot along East Main Street in Aledo.

Construction should begin in the spring with completion targeted for the following fall or winter.  Worsely says taxes are not being levied for the project, instead alternative revenue bonds are being used along with reserves and donations.
