The Mercer County Historical Society and Mercer County School District team up for an Abraham Lincoln poster contest. There were over 100 submissions from Apollo and New Boston Elementary School third, fourth and fifth graders says Historical Society president Ron Dillavou.
Zecher is an avid collector of Lincoln items. He says most people know Lincoln surveyed the town of New Boston in the 1830’s, but he was also in Mercer County another time.

The historical society honored the Lincoln poster winners Wednesday night at the Essley-Noble Museum in Aledo.
