A Seaton man placed on 24-months probation after being found guilty of a Class 4 criminal sexual abuse charge last spring. Today in Mercer County Circuit Court, 69 year old Gary Melton was also sentenced to 10 days in the Mercer County Jail with an additional 170 days stayed. In addition, he was fined $1,000 plus court costs. Judge Walter Braud handed down the guilty verdict following a one day bench trial last April. The charge was in connection with an incident in June of last year. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department arrested Melton in October following a complaint involving a child.
