Aledo City Council Adopts Resolution Condemning Ameren

July 7th, 2014

city hall signThe Aledo City Council is not very happy with Ameren. And they took official action tonight passing a resolution condemning the utility company for its lack of responsiveness to legitimate concerns. Mayor Chris Hagloch says one of the issues involves Ameren continuing to pay Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway for an easement–despite BNSF not owning property in Aledo since 1990 and there hasn’t been a railroad in Aledo since 1986.  Hagloch didn’t have to vote on the issue, but he did.  In fact it was his first ever vote as mayor.

The resolution passed by a unanimous vote.
