Verschoore’s Animal Disease Outbreak Response Legislation Wins Approval

verschooreA local state lawmaker has introduced legislation that may help streamline the state’s response to animal disease outbreaks. State Representative Pat Verschoore sponsored the bill that merges the Cattle Disease Control Committee with the Swine Disease Control Committee.

He agrees it could save time in response to emerging diseases such as PEDV.

The bill has been approved by the Illinois House. Verschoore is the Chairman of the House Ag Committee.
