Moffitt Wants To End PE Waivers

MOFFITT IN ALEDOA local state lawmaker wants to eventually put a stop to physical education waivers. State Representative Don Moffitt made those comments this week following the House Elementary and Secondary Education Committee’s approval of a bill that permits a school board to excuse pupils in grades 9 through 12 from engaging in PE if those students request to opt out and are enrolled in a dual credit course with an institution of higher learning.

Moffitt has been instrumental in forming a fitness caucus in the Illinois General Assembly.
