State Police Squad Struck Near Woodhull

isp crashThere were no serious injuries, but an Illinois State Police trooper’s squad car was struck early this morning while parked on the shoulder of Interstate 74 near Woodhull.  He was responding to an accident in the west bound lane when an approaching pick-up truck lost control and hit the rear of the squad car and pushing it into a ditch.  The squad car lights were activated and a flare line had been deployed.  The driver of the truck–49 year old Ricky Sharp of Galesburg was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and Failure to Yield to Stationary Authorized Emergency Vehicle.
