LaHood A Yes Vote On Pension Deal; Moffitt A No Vote

DarinLaHoodMany lawmakers are celebrating what they consider a historic overhaul of the government worker pension system in Illinois.  But before Governor Quinn can sign the bill, opponents are vowing to go to court to overturn the new law.  The measure raises the retirement age for some workers, scales back cost-of-living increases, and gives some workers the chance to join a 401K-style plan.  Unions are challenging that the law is unconstitutional because it cuts back on some earlier guaranteed retirement benefits.
Locally, State Senator Darin LaHood voted in support of bill.

State Representative Don Moffitt was a no vote.
