Much Interest In Mercer County Primary

county clerkThe March 18th primary ballot coming together in Mercer County. The deadline to file nominating petitions was yesterday at the Mercer County Clerk’s office.

A total of six candidates are running for Sheriff. There are four Democrats–Caryn Brokaw, Jeff Dale, Dave Staley and Ron Schoon and two Republicans–Chris DeFrieze and George Howard.

There are three candidates running for Mercer County Treasurer–Republican Sandy Bull and Democrats Bev Lower and Shawna Pearson.

Two candidates are running for Mercer County Clerk–incumbent Democrat Phyllis Bewley and Republican challenger Chuck Gysi.

And for Mercer County Board seats–Republicans are running Karen Jones and Jason Soseman in District 1, incumbent Brian Anseeuw in District 2, Joe Vann in District 4 and Mark Bieri in District 5.

On the Democratic ticket–the county board candidates are Randy Anderson in District 1, Dan Sedwick in District 2, Larry Stone in District 3, and Tom Haines for a four-year seat in District 5 and Donald Bell for a two-year term.
