More Discussion, But Council Takes No Final Action On Button Building

March 19th, 2013

The Aledo City Council spent well over an hour in closed session discussing the acquisition of the Button Building, but no final action was taken last night. Mayor Bill Breeden says there will be more discussion at a TIF Committee meeting on Thursday night.

The sale price of $200,000 was made public at a TIF Committee meeting last week. The property houses The Liberty Station Steakhouse, The Vintage Button, and Reason’s Deli. Also last night, aldermen approved a $35,000 TIF incentive for Mary Louck, who is moving her Main Street Antiques business at 121 East Main Street. And the council okayed a 2-percent raise each year for the next three years for city employees represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150.
